In Response to Re: Mansion/house rental weddings?:
If it were me, I'd be spooked by the foreclosure thing, esp. if your wedding is longer than a few months out (at least if it was sooner, you could check it online to see if it was in foreclosure). If you want a private setting, there are golf/country clubs that can host your party away from the crowds. Posted by trexcrossing I came across this post recently and from recent experiences I decided that I was important to weigh in on the subject. As a professional business woman that resides in the Las Vegas Area I was recently asked for assistance from an out of state friend for a recommendation on a wedding venue. She was looking to be married some place nice like a mansion that she could rent for the venue as well as the accommodations. As I researched this I found “A LOT” of really bad places that were sorely misrepresented and some to be outright fraudulent. I have some suggestions that are highly helpful in weeding out the problem venues. Before booking you need to follow these 3 rules… 1. Get the physical address (Most scams or bank owned or foreclosed properties will not give you this so it is a big warning 2. Google the address (You are looking for the Google drive by to match the front of the property to the pictures of the house, foreclosure notices and complaints from other renters.) 3. Always get a contract from a licensed reputable company that states “You are allowed to have an event and for how many.” My friend and I looked at several properties before figuring out that Las Vegas home owner associations do not allow destination wedding rentals so I recommend a privately gated estate or mansion. I hope this is helpful… As an update, of all the properties we found the one that was selected turned out to be the best for so many reasons. You can find it at www quailestate com
